at-home birthday party ideas for toddlers: 2 and 3 years old

Looking for the most fun at-home birthday party ideas for your toddlers? My number one tip is to put together activities your toddler will be excited about. I recently had an at-home birthday celebration for my two toddlers, and it turned out perfectly.

After doing so much research on at-home birthday party ideas for toddlers, I was able to put together an affordable and fun birthday celebration for my beautiful babies. When you have two toddlers whose birthdays are two weeks apart and you want them to both have unique birthdays, my first option was to do something big to celebrate them both on the same day, but I also wanted them to be able to celebrate and enjoy their birthdays individually. See what I did for my boys to have great indoor birthday party ideas at home.

I’m sure I didn’t have the energy to invite people out twice in two weeks. It’s exhausting just thinking about it. The goal of their parties was for them to have fun while also creating beautiful memories. So I put a list together of the things my kids enjoy doing to make the day more enjoyable and extra special.

Jelan Birthday setup

Jelan loves anything that has to do with education. Painting, reading, and writing are his things. His favorite color at the moment is green, so I went with a green theme. Amazon to the rescue again. The backdrop and balloon set that I got from them made a whole lot of difference. It was easy to set up, as it came with everything I needed to complete the setup.

Prayer for the birthday boy

We started the morning with a quick prayer for the birthday boy. It was important to my family for Jelan to start his new year dedicated to God.

Special breakfast

I made him his favorite breakfast, which is pancakes and some yogurt. He was too excited about the decorations to eat his food.

Mini photoshoot

I did a mini photoshoot for him so he could have memories to look back on celebrating his three-year birthday.

Cake cutting

Jelan had been asking for a green cake, but I dropped the ball on this one with my last-minute plans. Since I couldn’t get the green cake, we opted for an amazing ice cream cake that tasted so good.

Gift opening

My boy is a huge fan of all things educational. So his gifts were mostly educational items.

Painting

I got different sets of paintings that they did outdoors. The painting was the highlight of the birthday. They had so much fun with it that they now want to paint every weekend.

Puzzle

The puzzle was not the best idea, but we still had some fun with it for the first fifteen minutes. I got us a family puzzle, but the kids were not having it.

Swim

And the best way to end this beautiful birthday for my amazing three-year-old is by having a mini pool party for him. With his smile and his laugh, you can tell he had the most amazing day. There was no fight at bedtime, so you know the day was a success.

Jayson’s birthday party

For my two-year-old, we pretty much take the same route as for Jelan’s birthday, doing all the things that Jayson loves and enjoys doing. He did not really care about the celebration; his focus was on his balloons and the different foods he was seeing. I think he’s too young to understand what was going on, but I made sure the day counted because I want it to be a beautiful memory he will look back to.

On Jayson’s birthday, we also do prayer time, his favorite breakfast, cake cutting, gift opening, and a mini photoshoot. His photoshoot went so much better than I was expecting. It was truly a smooth ride, and as the eyes behind the camera, I enjoyed every bit of it.

We wanted his to be unique as well, so we went for a red theme and did things that were Jayson’s favorites.

Went to church

This was our first time back to in-person church after three months, and the kids absolutely loved it.

Lunch with the family

My kids love Texas Roadhouse food, so we went there for a family lunch.

Trampoline park

We spent most of our time here. The jumping, running, and excitement was just everything and a beautiful way to end Jayson’s two-year birthday.
