Believe in yourself – a 2 million dollar conversation with a preteen

The start of a two-million-dollars journey!

believe in yourself

“Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine. “

Roy T. Bennett

Conversation with a preteen

I was driving my son from school one day, and he was telling me about his growing interest in being an NFL player. During that conversation, he asked me if I was aware that there are NFL players who make up to two million dollars a year. I answered that it sounds about right, and I believe some players are making way more than that. He then said jokingly to me, “I bet you’ve never had two million dollars in your entire life.” Well, duh, I wish I had. I told him that I’ve never had that much money, but I’m working on getting that someday. There was a long silence, and he turned his face to the window.

It is two million dollars

The silence was awkward and I could feel the doubt. I wanted to know why he was doubting that I couldn’t make that amount of money. I was a little disappointed. So many thoughts were running through my mind. Maybe I’m not doing enough for him to see the potential of me making millions of dollars in the future. To be honest, I have no idea how it’s going to happen. We’re talking about two million US dollars. It’s huge. But I also know that it’s possible.

believe in yourself

I was expecting a “no”

I asked him, “Do you believe that I’m going to make that amount of money someday?” In my mind, this is a challenge. Bring it on, son. At that moment, my goal is to prove him wrong and make those millions one day, so I can remind him of this conversation. I was waiting for his response. That’s going to seal this challenge that he’s not even aware he’s created.

My twelve-year-old answered, “Do you believe that you can make two million dollars?” We just arrived home. I parked the car, and I could feel him looking at me, waiting for a response. I didn’t say anything. Of course, I believed in myself. I was expecting him to tell me that he didn’t have faith in me, so I could go extra hard for my two million dollars. I wanted a challenge to prove him wrong so badly.

believe in yourself and anything is possible

I turned off the radio, and my son continued, “It does not matter whether I believe it or not. The most important thing is what you believe in. You’re the one that’ll have to put in all the work to achieve your goals. ” It’s nice to have support, especially from family, but if you find yourself in a place where there’s no support, do not let that stop you either. And to answer your question, yes, I believe in your ability to make two million dollars. Mom, I have a lot of stuff that I’ll love to get, so I need you to make way more than two million dollars.

Believe in yourself

That’s my twelve-year-old son, y’all. I could cry. I’ve cried a few times reliving this conversation. I’m raising an amazing young man. My son also watches a lot of Dhar Mann on YouTube. So, I guess, thanks Dhar Mann.

I don’t know what your situation is or what goals you have that seem unreachable, but my message to you is to believe in yourself no matter what. Believe in yourself and make it happen; don’t rely on anyone else. Go for it. You have it in you to make it happen. Do not go on a journey to be spiteful because someone does not believe in you, but instead go for your dreams for you and do the things that align with your goals.

It’s time for me to start executing. There’s so much work to be done, and I’m ready for my two million dollars.

Cheers, from a future millionaire!
