How to Earn Cashback on Every Purchase – Blogmas Day 3

cashback with rakuten

Even though cashback rewards have become popular, I’m surprised that most people are not using them. The other day, while talking to a friend, I mentioned using cash back. According to her, cashback is just a ploy used by companies to get people to spend more money, and some hidden fees come with it.

While it is true that firms want us to spend more money on their platforms, most cashback doesn’t come with hidden costs.

Since we tend to spend more money during the holidays, I’m sharing some tips to help you save money by utilizing cashback rewards programs.

How does cashback work?

Cashback is an incentive where you earn a percentage of your purchases. Banks and retailers offer this service to encourage customers to spend more and increase loyalty. Many credit cards and online platforms offer cash back on holiday purchases to help you recoup some costs. Make every penny count by leveraging cash-back offers.

Higher cashback percentages exist in specific categories, like groceries, gas, or dining. Check the terms, as cashback may have limits, expiration dates, or categories for earning rewards.

Also, signing up for cashback doesn’t increase the price of the item you want.

Exploring Cash Back Apps

Two ways that I get cash back are through Rakuten, a cashback app, and my bank. From my research, these are some of the top-rated cashback apps.

Check your bank to see what rewards they are offering. Depending on your bank, there is no need to have or open a new credit card. All I had to do was opt in for the cashback reward in the categories of my choice, and they sent me a monthly refund, which had ranged from $28 to $244 over the years.

Utilizing Online Shopping Portals:

From my experience, it is easier to get a cashback offer through online shopping than in stores. I can get rewards online and in-store using the Rakuten app, but I never remember to use it while I’m in the store. If you can continue using cashback apps in stores, definitely do so to earn more.

Tracking and Redeeming Rewards:

Track your cashback earnings. Learn how to redeem them and choose the method that works for you. Some retailers will allow you to receive cash, gift cards, or travel rewards.
