Happy Holidays Fam!
I want to wish y’all a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year before I signed off for 2021. Yep, this is officially the last blog post for this year. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR JOURNEYING WITH ME!
Do you have a family Christmas tradition? If so, please share in the comment section. Christmas pajamas are my family go-to, but I am also trying to have more Christmas traditions for my family. We did a few things this year, most of which were spontaneous, but the memories were amazing. I want us to try different things, and see which one works best for my family.

At the beginning of December, I asked my oldest son what he wanted us to do for Christmas, he said he only cared about making a gingerbread house. I wasn’t in the Christmas spirit yet and I thought my toddlers (Jelan and Jayson) wouldn’t understand anything since they are still young, so there would be no Christmas celebrations for me. However, whenever I take my little kids out, they are usually delighted to see a Christmas tree, and Jelan has started humming jingle bell tunes. I decided to buy a mini-Christmas tree, one of my best decision in 2021 hahahahahaha……… After putting up the tree, my spirit light-up, and we have been playing Christmas carol non-stop since then. Joseph Jr., who said he is not concerned about anything other than the gingerbread house, was also happy.
The Gingerbread House
I’m not sure what I was thinking when I decided to include the toddlers to build the gingerbread house. Our gingerbread house building went left in two minutes. Y’all! These kids were eating and throwing around the gingerbread. Even though we didn’t get to build our gingerbread house, the memories we created were priceless. I moved from being irritated to giggling and enjoying the moment. So, for the next year, my goal is to buy two sets of gingerbread houses, one for the kids and one for Joseph Jr. and myself.
I have a twelve years old!
On the 22nd, Joseph. Jr. turned twelve. I’m not sure who is more excited about his birthday, his father or me, but for sure we were both more excited than the birthday boy. He had a great day, got everything on his wish list, and I made his favorite meal (Sierra Leone Salad). We had to cancel his birthday party because most of his friends had plans with family members or were traveling.
Last few days before Christmas and Christmas Day
Our plan includes relaxation, hot cocoa, games, and maybe a movie night. I want us to watch “The Elf on the Shelf” first for our family movie night because I have never seen it, but Joseph Jr., who has, does not like it and wants us to watch “Home Alone,” thus family movie night is up for debate.
For us, Christmas will include online church services, lot of food, and more family time.
Best wishes for the holidays to you and your family!
