15 minutes quesadilla recipe

Quesadilla is a traditional Mexican dish, a tortilla filled with cheese and various other fillings (meat, chicken, mayonnaise, vegetables, etc.). I tried it for the first time in 2019 and there is no going back. My kids are picky eaters, but they’ve all agreed that, you don’t say no to a tasty cheesy quesadilla.

Have you ever had days where you don’t know what to cook for dinner and your family relies on you to create some magic aka warm homemade meals? For me, BEEF QUESADILLA is always the answer. The best part about this food is that you can put your own spin to it to get a taste of your liking. I call it a mom win.

Quesadilla

Let’s get into this quick 15-minute recipe. I always freeze my diced beef/chicken and veggies, so when it’s time to cook, I don’t have to start from scratch. I have made quesadillas with different fillings, and it’s is always a hit. To make the mixture, I mix my cooked meat with Rao sauce, and spices.

Ingredients

  • Flour tortillas
  • Diced beef
  • Mixed veggies
  • Butter
  • Spices
  • Rao sauce

Tips to get a perfect quesadilla in 15 minutes

  • To save time, prepare the fillings beforehand and freeze them
  • Use flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas
  • The skillet should be on a medium heat, and do not leave it unattended
  • Do not overstuff the tortilla, it will be difficult to flip
  • If you’re using salted butter, don’t add any additional salt
  • Use as little oil as possible; I prefer using butter.

Directions

  • Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add the beef, veggies, Rao sauce, spices and salt. Cook and stir 3 to 5 minutes or until the beef and veggies begin to release juices. Transfer to a bowl
  • Place the tortilla on the hot skillet, let it brown a little bit, then add the shredded cheese and the beef and veggies mixture from step 1
  • Next, put another tortilla bread on top, and flip it, cook until both sides are golden brown and crispy
  • It’s all set and ready to be serve. I like to cut mine into small pieces

You can serve it with salsa, sour cream, guacamole, mayonnaise, or just as it is. The choices are endless. For healthier options, add more veggies or don’t use the meat or chicken. With the right seasoning, you’ll still get a flavorful quesadilla.

A meal ready in 15 minutes? Definitely a win. Try this recipe and let me know how it turned out.
